The Last Journey is a photographic exhibition by Gerry Robertson, evoking the last few weeks of Burns's life from the Brow Well to his final resting place. The opening is at 7pm on the 3rd of July at the Robert Burns Centre and the exhibiton will be taking place in what used to the Bonnie Bistro. The exhibition will run from tonight until the end of September during the usual opening hours. The exhibition is kindly supported by Ottersburn, contemporary fine art picture framers. The Museum will also be revealing some new scale models. Music, nibbles and speakers will round off the night.

Whatever age we are, many of us can get stuck in old habits, such as neglecting self-care, not getting enough good quality sleep and forgetting to move in ways that maintain our strength, balance and flexibility. Research evidence suggests that practicing mindfulness with yoga and qigong can help all these issues and increase our confidence, happiness and overall quality of life. As we get older we need to put a little more effort into taking care of ourselves, but this needn’t be difficult. In fact with yoga and qigong it can be quite fun. During this weekend you will learn some short, easy to do, gentle Chi Yoga and QiGong movements integrated with Mindfulness practice. You will be practicing along as part of a group of like minded people in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. So if you feel stuck in your old habits why not do something different? A prizewinner at major international competitions, he appears as a soloist with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (London), Radio Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Deutsche Radiophilharmonie, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Kremerata Baltica, MDR Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. She has been selected for leading international masterclasses including Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, IMS Prussia Cove and the Ozawa Academy, where she has worked with artists such as Daniel Barenboim, Eberhard Feltz, András Schiff, Alfred Brendel, Donald Weilerstein, Miriam Fried, Pamela Frank and Zakhar Bron. **Oxana Shevchenko, piano** Oxana Shevchenko is internationally recognised as a pianist of outstanding artistry, sensibility and versatility, in demand as both a soloist and chamber musician. Following her success, she recorded her debut album for Delphian Records (released 2011) featuring works by Shostakovich, Mozart, Liszt and Ravel. Pop-in and help recycle donated bikes. Once bikes are assessed they are either repaired or stripped down for parts and scrap metal. Monday night sessions give you the opportunity to either take on a repair project or help keep the workshop stocked with useable spare parts. As part of this year’s Wild Goose Festival you can join us for three risograph workshops at the Print House exploring storytelling and environmental activism. Our environments are full of stories waiting to be heard. By discussing, imagining, and making together we can listen to what the living world is asking of us during the current mass extinction. Taking our places as stewards and advocates for all the wild things around us we will use the risograph printer to create posters and zines which can share what we learn in the festival hub and beyond. **Event Information** Our workshops are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. We suggest a standard contribution of £25, but you are welcome to choose the amount that feels manageable for you.
